Shoulders out of alignment with the "Straight to the Target line " pa02 (Changed - 18/03/2007)

Without realising, a golfer can develop a habit of standing with the shoulders slightly "open" when addressing the ball.

This means that when the golfer performs the back swing movement, the putter moves with an "in to out " swing path, subsequently the putter returns to the ball with "out to in" swing path, causing the putter head to slightly cut across the ball at impact.

Therefore you should check your stance continually to make sure that your shoulders are square to the target line when you address the ball.

If your putts are going wayward, get your set up checked out by your local Golf Professional.
