From the address position, the large muscles of the back are used to make a normal rotation of the shoulders whilst you make the normal hip movement. As you reach the end of the back swing movement, you must pause before beginning the down swing movement, so that the hips can assume control during the down swing movement.
However, beware, you must keep the head firmly held so that it remains slightly behind the ball throughout the complete movement and focus on the ball until well after the ball has been struck -- failure to do either will cause you to be inconsistent.
