Precise moment.
Changed - 25/08/2010)
A very important aspect of the golf swing is actually watching
the ball until the precise moment the club head strikes the ball.
An idea of what I mean, if you were holding a sharp needle and
you attempted to touch the tip of the needle with your index finger
tip, unless you watched the tip of the needle very carefully, you
could easily prick your finger on the needle. - This is how much
attention you must pay in watching the ball until the club head
makes contact with the ball.
Most golfers do not watch the ball right up to the precise moment
the club head makes contact, they think they do, but what happens
is that the conscious mind is aware that the ball is going to be
struck so the mind force the eyes to anticipate the flight of the
ball a nano-second before the club actually makes contact with the
ball, subsequently the golfer`s head begins to turn to see the flight
of the ball, causing the shoulders to begin to turn towards the
target area, too soon.
So if you want to improve the strike of the ball, train yourself
to actually watch the ball right up to the point when the club head
makes contact with the ball, but importantly, at that precise moment
you must force the arms to interact.
I can assure you that it is not easy to do, but concentrate
on the task and see the result of your labours.
