End of Back Swing Movement. (Changed - 31/03/2011)

The back swing movement is performed by focusing on the right shoulder to have over-all control of the rotational movement of the compact upper body unit, thus using the rotational movement of the compact upper body unit to pull the passive arms/golf club to the end of the back swing movement whilst the heel of the left foot remain firmly on the ground and the head remains in the fixed frontal facing position.

Therefore at the end of the back swing movement the body position is as follows :-

1) The rotational movement of the upper body unit has pulled the passive arms/golf club as far as it is physically possible whilst the lower body has resisted the movement.

2) The core muscles are wound up to their maximum torsion.

3) The head remains positioned with "pinpoint accuracy"so that the left eye is slightly behind the ball and the eyes are fully focused on the back edge of the golf ball.

4) The left arm remain perfectly straight whilst the right arm has gradually folded and the wrists has been fully cocked.

5) The forearms have been allowed to rotate naturally .
( You do not need to consciously rotate the forearms during the back swing movement - this happens automatically as the right arm folds.)

6) The upper body angles have been strictly maintained.

7) The elbows remain held as close together as is physically possible thus keeping the upper body firmly together as a very compact unit.

8) The thumb of the left hand is directly under the grip of the golf club.
(The thumb is on top at the address position.)

9) Most importantly, the eyes have remained focused on the back edge of the golf ball at all times.
