Hip Movement-hip08 --(Changed -26/10/2007)

As you reach the end of your back swing, if you have maintained the muscles of the legs and the thighs in a taut condition and also kept the heel of the left foot firmly on the ground, the torsion of the body should be at its maximum.

Notice the heel of the left foot remains firmly on the ground.

In this photograph the large back muscles have rotated the shoulders to this position whilst the lower part of the body totally resists the movement. However there becomes a point when the hips cannot rotate/pivot any further, therefore by twisting the upper torso, the golfer in able to make a fuller back swing movement.

I have shown red stripes on my torso to indicate the twisting effect.
