Arms -hip02- (Changed 28/11/2007) Most golfers assume that the arms are the controlling force of the golf swing. However with my method, the first link in the down swing sequence of movements is the transferring the weight of the body onto the left leg and simultaneously pivoting/ rotating and slightly swaying the hips towards the target area.Therefore the hip movement should be considered to be literally the driving force of the down swing movement, which is activated by pressing down on the ground with the left foot a milli-second before the shoulders reach the end of the back swing movement.If you observe most of the top class golfers, you will note that it is the pivotal movement of the Hips that initiates the down swing movement.** Click here to return to Lower Body** |
