Basic Fundamental Movements.( Changed - 29/09/2008)

On this page I have listed the "Basic Fundamental Movements" that you must perform in order to play very golf.

These are listed in alphabetical order and not in any priority. However by working through the list you will gradually improve your golf technique.

I will be highlighting these items throughout the lessons, so all of this information will be continually repeated, therefore you may wish to read through these pages before you begin the lessons.

On another page I have listed the "Basic Fundamental Principles" but this time I have placed the basic principles in order of priority.

"Forward Press"

This is a method of initiating the back swing movement.

"Key Movement"

Allows the golfer to keep the club face square to the target line for a longer distance as the clubhead goes through the contact area, but also offers the golfer the ability to add extra power into the golf shot.

"Reaction of the Arms to the movement of the Shoulders"

This section shows how differently the arms react to the movement of the shoulders as you perform the back swing movement and the down swing movement.

"Sequence of Movements"

The correct sequence of the movements of the golf swing.

"Shoulder/Hips-unit"

This is an movement that you must understand and perform if you wish to play very good golf.

"Twisting the upper torso"

The method of using the flexibility of the upper torso to achieve a full back swing movement.

"Twisted condition of the upper body unit"

The body must be held in this twisted condition throughout the down swing and the follow through movement.

"Whipping Action"

The method of dramatically increasing the velocity of the club head into the contact area.
