Right Hand.-
Master - (Changed - 23/11/2007)
At the address
position the palm of the right hand must be square to the target
line, thus matching the alignment of the club face.
Therefore during the down swing movement you must be aware of
the position of the right hand so that the right hand returns to
the original address position of being square to the target line
at the precise moment the club head makes contact with the ball.
Therefore from the moment you begin the back swing movement,
grip the golf club very firmly with the thumb and the index finger
of the right hand and stiffen the right wrist by making the muscles
of the right arm into a taut condition, but importantly also try
to keep the right upper arm against the upper body throughout the
back swing movement and do not consciously rotate the forearms during
the back swing movement.
By keeping the right hand held in this condition and the right
upper arm held against the upper body, the club face will return
to the ball square to the target line.
