Swing Tempo.
(Changed
- 24/01/2011)
You cannot perform the majority of the golf swing too slowly.
The back swing movement is performed by rotating the compact upper
body as far as possible, but very very slowly.
After a slight pause the weight of the body is transferred onto
the left leg and the hips begin to very slowly force the compact
upper body unit to rotate back to the original address position
with a very gradual accelerating tempo.
I cannot over-emphasis how slowly the majority of the golf swing
is performed.
As a very good guide, the perfect back swing movement takes
about 2.0 - 2.5 seconds to perform, then after a slight pause, the
perfect down swing movement takes about 1.50 - 2.00 seconds to perform
before the hips begin to quickly turn fully face the target area.
