Hands
Position. --Master
( Changed - 04/06/2008)
If you wish to play very good golf, it
is absolutely vital that the hands return to the original
address position at the precise moment
the clubhead makes contact with the ball -- It
is absolutely vital that you concentrate to ensure that these two
actions coincide.
Therefore regardless of whether you set your
hands adjacent to the ball as shown in my set up section, or alternatively
set the hands slightly ahead of the ball at the address position
-- whichever way you set the hands at the address position, this
is deemed to be the original address position.
Ensuring that the hands do not return to the original
address position until the precise moment the club head makes contact
with the ball is one of the major basic principles of the golf swing
-- so take note.
However what is absolutely vital is that at the
precise moment the club head makes contact with the ball, the left
shoulder muscles then pull the arms towards the target area, thus
forcing the right arm into the fully straightened position whilst
the shoulders are held "Parallel to the Target Line" and
the whilst the head remains positioned so that the left eye is slightly
behind the ball - however as soon as the both arms are fully straightened,
the whole body turns to fully face the target area.
Professional golfer pay particular attention to
the position of the hands as the down swing movement is performed
and therefore concentrate very hard on this aspect of the golf swing.
-- Therefore I cannot stress how important this basic principle
contribute to playing very good golf.
